"One of the earth’s monstrosities"

What was Pliny the Elder so crabby about? Okay, so they aren't soft, pretty plants. But they look pretty great in our garden.

I was thinking of making my own
Cynar. (nah, it's probably much easier to buy it.)

Maybe that's what the gazillion ants that live on our artichokes are doing. Maybe that's what Pliny the Elder should have done.

(All of these 'chokes are on 2 plants!)

No offense but, Cynar sounds nasty -- artichoke booze? Bleh! Might as well just drink Rhubarb Soda (which I did because I actually like rhubarb -- but let me tell ya -- not so great in soda form!)

BTW, who the hell is Pliny the Elder? Is that even a person or is it some troll thing from Lord of the Rings? It's probably some world-renown prophet/scholar and now I look stoopid... still... for reals? Pliny? and Artichoke hooch? Where do you come up with this stuff? Have you been sampling stuff at work again?

On a completely unrelated note, do you have a hula hoop? Wanna come over and hoop sometime?

Pliny the Elder was a Roman philosopher.

No offense taken, I agree about Cynar. It does sound gross. I made rhubarb liqueur once and it was horrible.

I don't have a hula hoop, but I'm sure I could find one at a store. Maybe we can hoop when you return from Frauntz?
